When you need to create a dynamic poster or booklet filled with bold graphics, you typically need a large format printer – sometimes known as a plotter – because these pieces of equipment can produce prints that are larger than standard desktop and office printers. These professional pieces of kit can handle larger paper sizes – known as A2 – so that you can print larger, eye-catching assets for your business.

However, these machines are expensive and require regular maintenance to keep them running at their best. The good news is that there are ways to achieve the same results with a smaller, more affordable printer. Here are some of the things that you can do to save money when you need to print A2 assets:

Using a large format printerĀ C&M Printing allows you to get a higher-quality finish, which is important for achieving a professional look. These printers can produce a wide range of different finishes, from matte to glossy, so you can find the right option for your needs. You can also choose from a number of different inks, which are important for ensuring that your printed materials look vibrant and vivid.

In addition, a large format printer can help you save on production costs because it can print multiple copies at once. This will help you save time and money in the long run, as well as reduce your carbon footprint.

The dimensions of the A series paper format are carefully curated so that their proportions remain the same if they are cut or folded in half. This was formulated in 1786 by Georg Christoph Lichtenberg, who was the inventor of letterhead printing. The paper measurements are now defined by ISO 216, which is the internationally recognized standard for office paper formats.

When the printer is printing a black part, the rotational speed is increased to remove the residual resin from the printing platform. The centrifugal force also helps prevent direct contact between the printing surface and the printed parts, allowing the process to continue without interruption (Fig. 2a).

A pair of inlet and outlet manifolds were fabricated to provide a laminar flow of oil across the build platform with a uniform velocity profile, which avoids turbulence that might cause optical distortions at the oil/resin interface (Fig. S1). The printed SPAs have integrated bending, pressure, and temperature sensors that connect to electric leads. The system was used to print a variety of multimaterial parts including: a) a two-material octet truss with stretchable elastomer and hard polymer panels; b) a four-material octet strut with ICE and nonconductive soft polymer hinges; c) a Miura-origami sheet with hard polymer hinges and ICE cores; d) a flexible IC octet truss surrounded by ice; e) a blood vessel incorporating hydrogels in two colors; and f) a Kelvin foam with hard and soft layers.
