A1 Facades

A1 Facades is a non-combustible, aesthetically pleasing, and durable alternative to traditional cladding materials. Its fire-rated structure and design allow for substantial cost savings, especially when compared to natural stone or terracotta. The porcelain cladding is durable and requires minimal maintenance, and it meets all insurance and building requirements for structures over 18m high. Additionally, Frontek is A1 rated non-combustible, which means that it makes no contribution to fire at any stage and is a good choice for cladding in tall buildings.

The patented aluminium-composite A1 a1facades.co.uk is the world’s first non-combustible facade material, and it is a sustainable alternative to metal or other cladding materials. The A1 facade panel is an aluminium-magnesium alloy with a non-combustible core, making it extremely lightweight and durable. In addition to being non-combustible, A1 Facades also resist corrosion and UV rays, ensuring that the material will remain attractive and functional for decades.

This fire rated facade material is also easy to work with, which means that it can be used in complex shapes. The material can be cut and shaped on site using simple hand tools, which gives architects and designers freedom to create beautiful designs that meet the needs of the building and its users. Furthermore, the A1 Facades is highly sustainable and can be recycled at the end of its lifecycle.

The A1 material is very strong and can withstand heavy rain. It is important to keep in mind, however, that A1 should not be used in areas where it will come into direct contact with the ground or water to avoid moisture uptake and damage. Similarly, the A1 material should not be placed in locations where moisture can gather, such as in basements.

In these cases, it may be necessary to provide a waterproofing membrane below the A1 cladding system. In addition, A1 cladding should not be exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time, as it can fade when subjected to prolonged exposure.

A1 facades can be used in a variety of projects, from large office towers to smaller retail spaces. A1 is a great option for building owners that want to improve the aesthetics of their commercial or residential buildings. A1 facades are available in a wide range of colors and finishes, making them an excellent choice for any project.

When designing with A1 attention must be paid to several aspects of the construction, mounting methods and the technical data. This includes the coefficient of linear thermal expansion of reinforced A1 laminates, and the maximum permissible temperatures of use.

XVW architectuur has designed this community parking garage for Buiksloterham in Amsterdam, freeing up space in the city streets for food markets, events and other civic activities. The facade of the multi-storey car park features a perforated steel mesh diagrid pattern that adds a playful and sculptural element to the structure. The A1 facade was designed by Lenka Kremenova and David Mastalka of XVW, who also worked on the parking structure at De Bijlo in Amsterdam.
